"The Parade"
This subject was not as challenging as it was time consuming. My wife says that too many of my paintings are dark and dreary. She can't say the same for this one.

"Easter"
Easter is a wonderful time of the year. Warm weather (usually), bright flowers, and the resurrection of our Lord. What a season!
"Flower Girl"
This was first time I attempted to paint an African-American. I love painting transparent materials like the girl's head-dress.
"Seconds"
Trying to capture a girl's grin as she goes for her second cookie was quite difficult. I worked for weeks on it but never truly got it.

"Girl With Book"
I try to avoid things like blankets. They're hard to paint and quite boring.
"Backyard Wonders"
For me, water is difficult to paint. This is epecially true when it comes to waves or the sun's reflection.
"Waiting For Dad"
This was the first time that I attempted a reflection. It's not as hard as it looks. The secret is to use thin paint, i.e., watered-down paint.
"Old Sailor"
I love this painting. Trying to paint a wet slippery raincoat was challenging but fun.
